I just received the AX2 today and while playing w/ it, I noticed that the TALK button is fairly loose and shaking the headset and just moving my head left and right I can hear the piece moving as if something is broken but the headset works fine. I read reviews that said the original AX had loose parts that made noises when shook but supposedly the AX2 shouldn't have any of these "loose parts". Is this just me? Did I just happen to get one that was below build quality? Does anyone else have this problem?

I would get a replacement, because the AX2 should be solid as a rock. As you said, the AX does do that. The AX2 shouldn't. Where did you get it from?

I totally ripped up the box... (I thought it was one of those sealed plastic ones and already cut into it before I found out it was easily opened up) do you think they will still accept a return? (IMG:https://mobilegadgetnews.com/style_emoticons/default/tongue.gif) if not I guess I can deal w/ it since it works... since RadioShack has it also I can get another one from there... leave the one I have now in my car and use while I drive... but question though, would it be possible to pair 2 of the same headsets to my MPx220? Would that cause a problem? Assuming I only have one of the headsets on at a time...

I don't think a ripped box will harm any, you should still be able to get a replacement unit. And yes, pairing two headsets work as long as you are only using one at a time. Even if it is the same brand and model, each headset has a unique identifying code, so having two of the same headsets wouldn't interfere with each other as long as you only use one at a time.

ok so I went and bought another one at the retail RadioShack store and although it the TALK button doesn't shake as much, it's still loose and does rattle... which leads me to believe that I'm either extremely unlucky or that's just how tha AX2 build quality is... (IMG:https://mobilegadgetnews.com/style_emoticons/default/blink.gif) I will be sending back my first one and see if they will send me one that doesn't rattle at all but I really liket his headset and it's true that you can't use it outside especially while driving w/ the window down or in windy situations.

Either I, and all the other reviewers, got exeptionally high build quality headsets, or as you said you are extremely unlucky. Either way, it is possible to get one that doesn't rattle. Hopefully your replacement will meet your expectations.

Let me get this straight, you're using the Ax2 with a MPx220? Hmmm...maybe I should give it try. All the other headsets I used (besides Moto headsets) would get a crackling sound everytime I am in a phone call.

I have tried it with my MPx220. I don't use the MPx220 regularly though, so I haven't done any detailed trial with the two. It did seem to work fine when I made a few calls.

I bought an AX2 in Radio Shack and when shaken it sounds like a maraca. The button is completely loose.

I exchanged it in another Radioshack store and an the replacement also has a loose button.

Aditionally the reception has been horrible. If I have the phone on my belt and there is something in between like my arm a lot of static is heard. Maximum distance I have been able to get is about 5 feet. (I am using it with an SMT 5600)

Are the sets sold in radioshack deffective?
