The HTC Hermes - Due in Europe and Asia, Summer 2006
In Greek mythology, Hermes presided over commerce, wrestling, and other gymnastic exercises. He was Zeus's messenger and wore a winged cap and winged shoes. So, we can expect a new PPC from HTC named after the Greek God to be fast, strong and flexible.

Here are some Olympic details on the HTC Hermes: Windows Mobile 5.0 - Sliding QWERTY keyboard - GSM/GPRS & UMTS/HSDPA networks - 300MHz Samsung S3C2442 processor - 64 MB RAM and 128 MB flash-memory - 2.8-inch TFT LCD display, 65K colors QVGA (240x320 pixels) - 2.1-megapixel camera and CIF-camera - Wi-Fi (802.11b/g) - Bluetooth 2.0 - Slot for microSD (TransFlash) cards - 1350 mAh battery - and a scroll wheel!

i-Mate will start marketing their implementation of this design as the i-Mate JAS JAM. QTEK will call it the 9600. European and Asian readers of MGN can expect this device to start hitting the streets this summer. T-Mobile Germany is rumored to release the Hermes in May, and i-mate in July.

Americans can pray to the Gods for a Stateside release before the end of 2006. But the Gods can be fickle...
