Sean Murphy (Sean) - Site Founder / HMFIC
Sean is the founder and executive editor of the Mobile Gadget News web site and the founder of Consync, a mobile devices consulting firm both headquartered in Endicott, New York.  In addition to these sites, Sean is a contributing editor to PocketPCAddict.  Sean has an Associates Degree in Mechanical Engineering Technology and is also a Geek (with a capital G) having a compulsive gadget habit that has brought him through 15 PDAs and 12 cell phones over the past 5 years. Sean has been involved in web site development since 1999 with countless web sites along the way. At the end of 2002, he tabulated over 10,000 html pages created. He has now trimmed back to focus on only a couple of projects to spend more time with his infant and 3 year old girls.

Sergeant Eric Jones (GrYph0n) - Site administrator / editor / moderator
Sergeant Eric Daniel Jones graduated from Jackson City High School in 1998. After completing a semester of college at Eastern Kentucky University College of Law Enforcement, Sgt. Jones enlisted into the Marine Corps and went through recruit training at Paris Island, South Carolina. Upon completion of recruit training, Sgt. Jones went to Infantry Training Battalion, followed by Security Forces Training Battalion. Afterwards, Sgt. Jones checked into 1st Fleet Anti-Terrorism Security Team (FAST) stationed in Norfolk, Va in June of 1999. While with 1st FAST Sgt. Jones deployed to Bahrain where he participated in operations supporting Operation Southern Watch. On return he was transferred to Camp Pendleton, California where he joined V1/4 B Company to serve as a Team Leader, Squad Leader, and as lead Martial Arts instructor for 1st Platoon. While there he went on a Westpac (Western Pacific) in December, 2001 in support of Operation Enduring Freedom. After Sgt. Jones returned he took over as the Training NCO (Noncommissioned Officer), and Marksmanship Instructor/Coach at 1st Marines Regimental Training Unit. After spending 2 ½ years at Camp Pendleton Sgt. Jones was transferred to Quantico, Va, in January, 2003. He currently works as the Scheduling Chief, Academics NCO, Testing NCO, Training NCO, and Martial Arts Instructor at the Staff Non-Commissioned Officer Academy. Interest include, but are not limited to Spending time with his wife and 2 dogs (Boxer and Boston Terrier), Martial Arts, Marksmanship (shooting his .45), CQB (Close Quarter Battle), and Mobile Technology (MPx200).

Shawn is currently a junior attending the University of California, Santa Cruz working towards a degree in Business Management Economics. Shawn’s current online web project is being the webmaster for Oakes College at UCSC (created their website). Shawn is a gadget nerd (emphasis on appearance), always having a dire need to obtaining the newest gadgets out on the market from various segments of the market (mobile phones, computer accessories, pda, and mp3 players). Apart from school and the computer he spends his time at the gym, mountain biking, and various other outdoor activities.

Norman is a programmer/analyst at USA TODAY headquarters in McLean, VA. Norman manages the intranet and design and develop Web applications in .NET framework using Visual Studio .net software. Norman earned a BS degree in Computer Science and Masters in Business Administration-MIS emphasis at Wheeling Jesuit University. Norman's first cell phone was Motorola StarTac, replaced by Samsung S105 and now, the best so far, Motorola MPX200. Norman believes Smartphones will be the future of mobile communication. Norman loves to ski, play soccer and travel around the world. Norman and his wife Cristina are currently busy house hunting in Northern VA.

Jim Cleek (Slacker) - Contributing Editor / Moderator
Jim (aka Slacker) has a BS in Computer Networking, specializing in Microsoft Technologies and a Masters in Business Administration. He spent 14 years in the Army serving in positions in Virginia, Texas and Augsburg Germany as a computer network engineer. He owns his own consulting business as well as working a full-time job as a Dept. of Defense contractor. He has installed and managed networks ranging from 5 workstations to over 500 production servers and 20,000 workstations. He is also an accomplished web developer and creates dynamic site content for customers using open source technologies including Perl, PHP and MySQL. He is a self-proclaimed gadget freak and junkie, and will stop at nothing to get the new piece of technology to strap to his belt.

Steve is an independent technology consultant and software architect with about 10 years of IT experience. He's been designing and building web-based systems since 1995 and has in-depth knowledge on Java, PHP, .NET, ASP, various e-commerce/portal systems, etc. He has held several architect/project manager/CTO positions for start-ups and large corporations alike. The current list of his clients includes 321Studios, maker of the popular DVD X-Copy series of products and BJC, the largest hospital system in St. Louis.

Steve has been an MCSE since 1998, and is a current member of St. Louis .NET user group and Gateway Java user group. During his spare time, Steve also serves as webmaster/developer for Vincegill.com, an online fan club built on PHP and mySQL. A known "gadget lover and hacker" among his techie friends, his latest acquisitions include a Compaq x1015 laptop and, of course, the MPX200.

Senior Systems Engineer working for a large Computer Aided Design (CAD) company out in Quakertown, Pa. Gerry has an Associates degree from Pennsylvania State University in computer science, and began his IT decision and career while working for PSU as a systems administrator for their campus.  His current work from his own website is seen in his passion for gaming at his site http://www.clanxri.net which is a Quake 3 Arena and Counterstrike gaming clan.
